Collection: Workshops

Calling all budding primary school potters! 

 

Join ceramic artist and mum Shelley Matheson with fellow mum, local cookbook author and teacher Anna Deacon for an exciting school holidays ceramics workshop.

 

Children will choose their own bisque-fired mug, vase, cup or bowl to decorate. They will learn about various ceramic surface decoration techniques, before they plan, practice and create their masterpiece. 

 

The fee for the two-hour workshop is just $40. This includes:

- all materials and firing costs (see below for collection details)

-deliciously healthy homemade snacks

- the inspiration to ignite a passion for pottery

 

Children will need to bring:

- their own water bottle

- an art smock or an old button-down shirt

 

Date: Tuesday 19th September Morning workshop: 10.00am - 12.00pm OR afternoon workshop: 2.00pm - 4.00pm.

 

Location: Strathdale Community Center, 191 Crook Street, Strathdale 3550.

There is ample parking, easy access, and the centre is directly adjacent to the Strathdale Park Playground.

 

Collection of pottery: Please note that the vessel will be glazed and fired after the workshop in order to make it usable i.e. food- and dishwasher-safe. You will be advised when your child's final piece is available for pickup in Kangaroo Flat, approximately 2-3 weeks after firing.

 

Snacks: Anna will make these, please advise if there are any dietary  requirements
